Gwen + Joel Highland Park Community House Wedding

I cannot rave enough about Gwen and Joel. You may remember them from their awesome and colorful engagement session this past summer. We ran around the 606 Trail in the city and go Vegan Milkshakes. It was amazing! They mentioned how much they like to go out and eat and how excited they were for their completely Vegan Mexican food. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint. We had the most incredible meal and will for sure be going to the restaurant soon to check them out again :) The tamales were phenomenal! I am drooling just typing this blog post up.

Gwen + Joel’s day went a little differently than others where they had the chance to set up during the middle of the day. It was awesome to watch they ceremony and reception space unfold and transform and to get to hang out with everyone while they out it all together. They DIY’d all of the decorations and they turned out so dang pretty. When you scroll, stop to admire the beautiful signs Gwen made! I was so impressed :) We exchanged the pains of DIY’ing decor and how it seems like a great idea at the time until you sit down to do it…but in the end it is worth it.

I also have to point out the bridesmaids dresses. Gwen hand picked each dress for each bridesmaid based off their body type, Skye tone, personality, etc. Something that they would look amazing in and feel great in. And she totally nailed it! I love how much thought went into their outfits. She even got them these badass jackets and flower crowns so basically I had dies and gone to heaven. The details of the ladies were just perfection and totally went with their boho feel of a day. Not to mention the colors with the grey day just looked incredible.

I could go on and on all day about how gorgeous their day was at the Highland Park Community House but I also want to note just how rad Gwen + Joel are. Some of the sweetest people we have met. Everyone we met was just so inviting, it was like we had all been friends for years. I feel so lucky they chose us to document their day.

Shoutout to the bridesmaids who were just a RIOT. I loved hanging out with them all day. And I so appreciate you guys checking in on us, making sure we had drinks or anything else we may have needed.
