Marissa Ukrainian Village Chicago Lifestyle Portraits

While I was editing photos from our photo walk through Chicago I realized it has been forever since my sister Marissa and I have done a shoot! One just for fun. We used to do them all the time. She may have actually been a bit tired of me using her as a model at one point ;)

I had been texting her a few weeks ago about this wall I have been waning to shoot at for a long time. I saw another photographer do a session there months ago and fell in LOVE. I am all about a good street art backdrop for a shoot. When I sent her the photo, Marissa goes “I walk by that mural all the time!” It was fate then that we had a to do a shoot there. We mostly just chatted and explored her neighborhood which was nice to get out in a different location. The last time we came into the city was the week before St. Patty’s Day. Which in the grand scheme of things isn’t that long ago but with how long quarantine has felt I thought it had been forever.

Curious about the last time Marissa and I did a shoot? I think it was for her graduation from Grad School last year! Can’t believe that was already a year ago. Also had to snap a few photos to document her neighborhood.
