Shelli and Matt Whitetail Ridge Yorkville Illinois Wedding

Shelli and Matt’s wedding was a bittersweet day for me. We were originally booked with another couple so we couldn’t shoot Shelli or Matt’s wedding. Or attend because they are friends :) When the couple who was originally supposed to get married that day had to postpone I told Shelli we were able to help out in any way we could for their day. I am so sad for all the couples who had to postpone and couldn’t celebrate this year. I cannot wait until next year! But I am so grateful Lex and I could be there for Matt and Shelli.

I think sometimes friends are nervous to ask us to shoot their wedding because they want us to enjoy ourselves, but honestly I LOVE capturing these special moments for our friends! It means the world to me to be entrusted with this job. It is so funny to think back to when I first met Shelli and Matt in the accounting office of NIU. They weren’t dating at the time and I was a photographer student working in an accounting office. Because that makes sense ;) And now, I got to not only witness their ceremony but was fortunate enough to document it?? Best job ever.

With every weddings, things don’t happen exactly as you plan them. Things changed day of for Shelli and Matt with the ceremony being moved inside. But I truly think these happen as they should and just add to their story!
