Amanda and George Intimate Rooftop Highland Park Illinois Wedding

Amanda and George weren’t sure exactly what they were going to do when they replanned their big celebration. They postponed it until 2021 but knew they still wanted to do something this summer. When Amanda emailed me just a couple weeks before that they were planning on getting married on the rooftop of their condo, I was so excited. But it was even more beautiful than I could have imagined. Amanda and George got ready together in their home with their adorable pets who are featured a bunch below! Rusty sat on a chair while we took detail shots and Rory walked the rings down the aisle with their niece! It was the cutest.

I think one of the pros to having these intimate backyard style weddings is being able to include your fur babies! That and doing things like getting married on your rooftop at sunset. I think it is so special that they have these photos of them on their wedding day with their families in their home. George and Amanda worked hard to get their condo ready for the wedding and finished the night before. And I think that just adds to their story.

Can we just take a minute to appreciate how this is some of the most incredible lighting I have ever had at a ceremony?? Timing is EVERYTHING. Lighting is EVERYTHING. Honestly, if I had to choose the most epic location and shooting between 2 dumpsters, I’d ask myself which had better light and go there. Plus, lets appreciate the awesome lighting coming through in their office for the getting ready shots. Made my photog hear happy!

While I will forever be obsessed with their small wedding I couldn’t help but feel excited after talking with their family about the party at their big wedding. Sounds like it is going to be an awesome night when they finally all can get together! Lex and I cannot wait :)
