Baby Boll Nursery Villa Park 2021
When we told our families we were having a baby, I brought up to my family how if they had something they could make for the room we would love that. It was important to us that the room 1) match the rest of the house/have pieces that could be used for years to come 2) have things made by our family and friends and 3) be gender neutral. While I knew a few of the things that were being made, we didn't get to see anything until our. baby shower. Lex and I were blown away! Everyone totally outdid themselves and we are so grateful for all the hard work they put into the pieces. Baby Boll has the best room in the whole house! And now has pieces that will be able to transition throughout their life.
For anyone curious, here is a break down of the pieces in the room, who made them or where we got them:
Blanket ladder - made by my brother. If you didn’t know, he is a very talented with building and creating with wood. He made us a bunch of pieces of the nursery as well as our whole house and you can actually order something from here on his Etsy shop.
Hexagon shelves - made my brother as well!
Wood art above the dresser - same thing. We asked him for a lot ;)
Minky blankets and burp clothes - my mom surprised us with these! We had no idea she was working on them. But they are so soft and cute. She also refurbished an old toy farm we found at an antique shop that she will keep at their house.
Book shelf - my dad was going to surprise us with this but I brought up a few times how I was going to IKEA soon to get a bookshelf so my dad told us about it but kept what it looked like a secret.
The dinosaur mobile - I had asked my sister if she could crochet some pieces for a mobile. We went back and forth on what animals and decided on Dinos! I love them so much. Even got to help pick out the yarn.
Hand knitted blanket on rocking chair - was made by my brother’s girlfriend Kara. She had made one for herself last year and I was obsessed! Tried making one for me around Christmas and it was a total fail. Hated the way the yarn felt in my hands so I did not get very far. I think she is taking orders :)
Play gym - I had initially just asked Nicole if she could knit/crochet some pieces for a play gym and I would buy the wood piece on Etsy. But her father-in-law is a great wood worker too and helped make it! She ordered the play mat off of Etsy. You can order her pieces from her Knit Twit shop here. She does custom orders too!
Stitched alphabet - was made by Lex’s mom for his room when he was a baby! That was awesome we could take that from his room at their house and use it at ours.
Knitted/crocheted rainbow blanket - we were surprised by Lex’s cousin Rebekah who made us one of the blankets on the blank ladder! She had wrapped her gift to us in it. She is super talented and also has an Etsy shop you can check out :)
Astronaut and alien art - Bambash Art
You are magic - wall hanging from Camp Marigold
