Catherine and Chris Mayslake Forest Preserve Oak Brook Couples Anniversary Session
I met Catherine over 6 years ago when I took a job as a graphic designer in Northbrook. It was a bad company to work for. One where there were too many good things to be true. But it got me in the suburbs. I eventually moved to Elmhurst when I needed an apartment after living in the company’s free housing for a few months. And I have loved living out here every since!
The company we worked for for the most part allowed us to work whatever hours suited us. So we would both come in at 6:30am. Helped me not sit in traffic too much on the way home every day after work on Fridays if I decided to go back home. While I did not love my job, I loved working with Catherine! She sat behind me and was so much fun to work with.
Every morning we would come in, talk about what we did the night before or over the weekend. I’d tag along to Starbucks with her or we would make the 30 minute drive to get these AMAZING donuts from Splunky Dunkers (which I could never say correctly). She loved to decorate her desk and would come in with adorable black, white, gold, and rose gold things to spice it up. She seriously was just so much fun.
I remember one time we were talking about our love of Macklemore and his song Downtown. There is one part in the video where Eric Nally brings his knees in towards one another drops down tot he ground and back up quickly. It was pretty impressive! I’m sure I am not describing it correctly so make sure to look up the video. Well, we were talking about and I thought I could do it. So in our little cubicle circle I attempted to do this dance move, nearly broke myself but we were all laughing so hard! It was always a good time in our cubicle circle.
I loved catching up with her and meeting her husband Chris. Her and Chris were married the winter after Lex and I and recently bought a house in the area too. I am so glad she is doing well and is happy :)
Thanks again you two for romping in the snow with me!!
