Emily and Mike Blackwell Forest Preserve Aurora Illinois Warehouse Wedding

Emily and Mike had to switch things up a month before their wedding and find a new venue. Mike’s company so graciously offered up their warehouse space in Aurora for the ceremony and reception. I love a good warehouse wedding! It is always so fun to see what a couple can do with a super nontraditional space to make it their own and beautiful.

We started off their day with the sweetest first look. Emily was pretty emotional before even seeing Mike so we took a moment beforehand. Couples, it is totally OKAY to get caught up in any emotion you might be feeling that day. It is also totally OKAY if you aren’t super emotional. It does not mean you love your person any less.

We then headed over to Blackwell Forest Preserve, which is one of my absolute favorite places to shoot. It is gorgeous with so many background options. They braved the heat for awhile but we needed to head to the venue to cool off and finish setting up!

They had a beautiful ceremony officiated by Mike’s sister followed by a cocktail hour with a beer vending machine, how fun is that?? And a taco bar. I didn’t stay for dinner but you can bet I stopped for my own tacos on the way home to celebrate from afar!

I feel super lucky to connect with such awesome people like Emily and Mike. It truly is an honor to capture their day. Congrats you two!!
