Kaitlyn + Mark Fullersburg Woods Graue Mill Oakbrook Engagement Session
Kaitlyn and I went to high school together but didn’t really know each other. I can be terrible with names, I’m more of a face person, so it was an awesome surprise when I walked into our initial meeting to go over photography options and I recognized Kaitlyn! Even though we didn’t really know each other in high school it was so wonderful to catch up with her and meet her fiancé! I love hearing the stories of people’s lives and where their adventures have taken them.
Kaitlyn and Mark competitively race bikes. How badass is that?? The day of their first date, Kaitlyn went off roading which she normally doesn’t do. It’s Mark’s type of face and she fell. She scrapped up her face pretty good and then devoured a burger while Mark didn’t eat much. He’s kind of a light eater after a race. It was a pretty interesting first date. Not many people can say they wiped out on bikes and STILL continued on with their date :)
Mark works at a car shop and was able to borrow one of his buddies’ cars. We found the perfect parking lot with a gorgeous forest back drop where the light perfectly came through the trees! The whole time we were shooting I kept saying how this had the best mobster feels.
One of my favorite parts of their session was when Kaitlyn mentioned they had onesies in her car and asked if they could get a shot. Have a fun idea and wanna get weird? My answer will always be HECK YES. Plus they brought their beautiful dog with them so I was pretty much in heaven.
I am so excited for their wedding next summer! They love to travel to Colorado and be in the mountains and found a venue they think reflects that near Galena. Apparently they have donkeys there so be prepared so LOTS of photos with them next year <3
