Deirdra and Jake Churchill Woods Lombard Maternity Session

I met Deirdra while working for BASF in high school. For 3 or 4 weeks for anywhere between 6 to 12 hours you were detasseling corn. It was the WORST job. Getting up early to go out into the wet field in the dark and working through the scorching hot afternoons with the bugs and frogs was not my idea of a good time at all. Thankfully it paid pretty well. And there were some pretty wonderful people like Deirdra who worked there too. Which made up for the fact that I am not an outdoor worker in the least bit. Aside from weddings and shoots ;)

I think Deirdra is only a year or 2 older than me but she always seemed so much cool and wiser when we worked together! And she totally was regardless of our age difference.

When she reached out about me photographing their maternity session I was over the moon! And we had so much fun catching up and getting to know Jake. He was so funny! On the way home Lex agreed about how awesome they were. Their little boy is due at the end of November and I am eagerly awaiting an announcement on Facebook that he is born! He is just going to be the cutest little guy. I mean, how could he not with gorgeous parents like these?? I would also like to take a moment to appreciate Jake’s beard. Lex and Jake bonded over their facial hair. I joked it was like owning a jeep, when you see another man with a beard across the way you nod in knowing you are in the beard club.

Congratulations on your upcoming adventures in parenthood you two! Lex and I are both so excited for you and how you are going to be wonderful parents :)
