Scheckel Family Fall Session Blackwell Forest Preserve 2020

My sister’s boyfriend Dan gifted his mom a photo session for Mother’s Day this year. It had been awhile since they had had family photos done. I may be biased but I think that is such a great gift! And it is so important to get family photos updated every now and again. Family sessions aren’t just for families with small kids! It is important to have photos of your family at all sorts of stages. And you shouldn’t wait until your kids get married to have nice photos taken!

We met up with the Scheckels at one of my all time favorite photo locations: Blackwell Forest Preserve. When Deb called me to set up the shoot she mentioned she wanted a place with great fall colors and I knew Blackwell would be perfect. I mean, look at this gorgeous fall backdrop!

It was so fun running around the preserve with them. And I am glad they were up for all my ideas! I know I say that a lot but I really mean it. It may seem silly to do some of the games or prompts I ask of you but those genuine smiles and laughter are worth it.
