Liz and Ray Sycamore Illinois Wedding
Wedding days rarely go according to plan. Then throw a pandemic in the mix! Liz and Ray were total troopers as their wedding was the last one we shot before we all needed to stay home. They couldn’t use their venue anymore and most of their guests could not attend. So with an intimate group of their family and friends in Liz’s parents’ warehouse in Sycamore they said I do.
Truthfully this was a hard blog post to write. I wanted to say how sorry I am for all the couples whose wedding days didn’t happen like they dreamed. I wanted to say sorry to those who had to postpone their date. I wanted to say sorry to the wedding industry who is hurting right now. This is such a scary time and who knows when we will be able to go back to “normal” but I am so grateful that we were able to help make this day happen for such awesome people while we could still go out!
I know this was a bittersweet day for Liz and Ray. While they were so happy to get married they were also sad that a lot of their loved ones couldn’t be a part of it. They are planning on having another party later this year to celebrate with everyone. And I hope it is one incredible party! These two deserve it!
Congratulations to such an amazing couple who I am so lucky to have been able to work with this past year. I shot their engagement session last March and I remember calling Lex on the way home just gushing about how much fun we had and how I couldn’t wait until their wedding.
I also wanted to give a shoutout to Catering by Diann! They were another vendor who helped make this day happen. They actually catered our wedding in 2018 and were AMAZING. People still tell us how much they loved our food. They were some of the best vendors we met through planning our wedding and have been wonderful to work with on 2 weddings after ours. If you are need of an awesome caterer who will work with you to create a menu that perfectly matches your day, look no further!
And the gorgeous flowers you see in the post were done by The Petal Boutique! Are they not beautiful?? I love when bouquets have some fun pops of color in there!
