Baby Boll Baby Shower Malta Illinois 2021

I am not going to lie. As soon as we announced we were having a baby and family started asking about our baby shower, I was not looking forward to this day. I really don’t like traditional showers. Lex and I both agree that having an entire group watch you open gifts for hours is excruciating. Not to mention can make people who can’t afford to gift us bigger items feel bad. When we are just grateful for their presence at the party! I am also not a fan that showers are typically just for women when there are a lot of men in our life who we love dearly want to celebrate with.

So when asked what we wanted to do, we wanted to make sure that it was a family party. Couples and kids were all included! We didn’t want anyone to wrap the gifts 1) to be more sustainable because you can’t recycle any gift wrapping unless you physically reuse it and 2) so we didn’t to interrupt everyone’s fun time to spend potentially an hour or two opening gifts and being super uncomfortable. This was meant to be a fun, laid back party where we got to just hang out with loved ones and celebrate Baby Boll! And it ended up being just that.

We had a great turn out for the day, the evening ended up being just beautiful out and all the hard work our families put into the party was amazing. Lex and I are very nontraditional people and I think sometimes that can be hard for people to understand. I know some of our ideas for our wedding and baby shower were probably completely different than what could be anticipated. But I am grateful they kept to our vision both times and helped make them happen.

Thank you SO much to every single person who sent us a gift, a card, a message, etc. Who attended our shower in person or virtually. It meant so much to us that you wanted to help us celebrate Baby Boll.

I also wanted to give a big shout out to all of our wonderful clients as well who have given us the sweetest gifts, sent us gift cards, or have checked in on me. I appreciate all of your support and love!! You are all the best.

If you saw one of my last posts, I shared photos of the nursery and links to the things family and friends made us. Some of it you can order for yourself! So make sure to check out that link if something catches your eye. I am all about supporting small businesses and loved ones :)
