Phil and Jacciah Geneva Courthouse Wedding

Phil and Jacciah got married on a beautiful November day at the Geneva Courthouse. After their wedding we ran all over the cute downtown Geneva area for photos and stopped in at the All Chocolate Kitchen for some hot chocolate and to warm us up.

Phil and Jacciah met on a dating app while Jacciah was in the area visiting family. She is from the Philippines. It is so crazy to think that these two randomly connected this way! They may never have crossed paths otherwise. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. So the fact that they both happened to have created an OKCupid account, be in the same area at the same time, and happen to stumble upon each other’s accounts is so cool. You literally have no idea where you are going to meet your person.

I am always surprised how many people are at the courthouse waiting to get married on any given day. It is neat to think about how many people are getting married at the same time you are! When they arrived, there were about 8 other groups ahead of them. Phil and Jacciah’s family included those from Aurora, Philippines, and New Zealand! I think her brother and sister and law win. Definitely the furthest I have seen anyone travel for a wedding :)

Here are some fun facts about the details of their day:

-Phil got his suit from Trunk Club. He was actually inspired by Lex’s (my husband’s) suit on our wedding day which I totally love. Lex wore a burgh red suit. On the inside of Phil’s jacket, he has a world map. And on the world map there are 2 cross stitches over the US and Philippines to commemorate where they are from. SO FLIPPING CUTE <3

-Jacciah’s dress was custom made according to what she wanted by a family member in the Philippines. She got to design every detail! So cool her dress is one of a kind.

-Jacciah’s shoes also matched Phil’s jacket. And Phil had some super cool socks! Scroll to see photos below.

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Hankes!! I am so happy for you both and honored to be a part of such a beautiful day :)
